My wife says I'm much easier to live with since I started taking MSM eight years ago. I think you have a good theory on why MSM may have a calming effect.

I hesitate to call it a sedative or tranquilizer effect because I've never taken those drugs, so have nothing to compare the MSM effect to. It's a feeling like elimination of stress or a feeling of relaxed well-being. Wonder if it might just be the anti-inflamatory property of MSM working on inflamation that is below the level of awareness.
