MSM is available in three forms, Pharmaceutical which has to be bad I have only seen fine powdered
pharamaceutical grade and the study has proved it tobe very ineffective.
Food grade which is what New River deals in if
unencombered by additives and additional processing is very effective, all of the animal grade the Study has tested was is contaminated with "silica" or silica dioxide, which blocks the
uptake of sulfur. The horses benefit some from
animal grade but "run" faster with food grade
without any additives.
In the opinion of the Study animal grade is worthless for man and animals. The number of people who have 'switched' to clean food grade
called the study as opposed to us calling them,
"what is in this stuff?" was their question and
those calls came three days after the switch.
So to answer your qusetion spefically, using animal grade MSM is a total waste of time and money for you and your horse.
