A lot of people never do experience detox symptoms. And if they occur, they usually last only a few days. The concern is that if toxins are released during those first few days, that the fetus may be exposed to unknown substances during critical stages of development. For example, I knew of one person that was using a lot of powerful pain killers prior to starting on MSM--he claimed to have a "pain-killer-high" for three months or so from the MSM detox, meaning that the drugs may have re-entered his blood stream from his tissues. You may not have had the kinds of dangerous toxins in your body that he had.
I am assuming you are past the first few days, so as long as you don't take higher amounts of MSM, you should be fine from this point on.
: Following advice from my naturopath I have started taking MSM (1 g twice daily) for morning sickness and it has absolutely worked. I feel so much better. This tells me that the MSM is helping my liver to detoxify and mop up the junk. If the MSM was making me detox wouldn't I feel worse due to an increase load on my liver etc? Your thoughts and comments would be apprieciated. K
