10,000 mg is about 2 and a half teaspoons of MSM. You may actually need to work up to higher than that to achieve what you want to. Each person is different. For example, my wife of 108 pounds prefers to take six teaspoons of MSM a day while I at 210 pounds prefer to take 2 teaspoons a day. But I have been as high as 16 teaspoons a day to get the MSM to wipe out a candida yeast infection that I had. So it all just depends on your body and what the challenges are.
Do not try to go up too fast. Only add 1 or 2 capsules each week if you decide to try to go up higher.
: Hi - my question relates to adequate MSM dosage after taking it for about 6 months. I've been at 10,000 mg per day (capsules) for about 3 months now (with 2,000 mg Ester-C) and while I have seen a slight improvement in my hair/skin/nails, I have not had much help with my allergies or energy level. I still have to take allergy pills twice/day (deconomine) and I'm exhausted all the time. Several days a week I go home after work (desk job) and go right to sleep (for 12+ hours). I drink 10-12 glasses of water a day, take a vitamin/mineral and a calcium supplement and get exercise by walking my dog - usually 30 minutes 3 or 4 times/week. Do you have any advice or recommendations you think might help me? I'm also going to try detox baths with baking soda and sea salt, which I've heard a lot of good things about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lynn
