| Type II Collagen |
 |
|
It took us longer to locate an acceptable type II
collagen supplier than we had expected. But by this
reading, we will have it back in stock albeit a
slightly different form.
Our new collagen is bovine-based using bovine skin
as the raw material (our previous collagen was poultry-
based using chicken sternum). But we were also able
to bring our price down a bit by using this alternate
source. We hope you like this new product.

| Benefits of DHA |
 |
|
Recent news reports say that DHA (docosahexaenoic
acid) now has a definite link to helping prevent
Alzheimer's disease. DHA is commonly found in fish
oil. The news reports state that while it was found that
DHA does help to dissolve existing plaque deposits,
that they still advise concentrating on prevention. The
reports did not state how much DHA was needed to
produce any benefit, but the American Heart
Association states that amounts of Omega-3 fatty
acids (of which DHA is one) in excess of 3000 mg a
day should not be taken unless under a doctor's
supervision because excessive bleeding
could occur in some people.
Our advise would be to add any one of these
supplements to your regimen, especially if you don't
eat much fish ( as in 2 to 3 servings a week). If you are
dealing with the beginning stages of Alzheimer's or
coronary heart disease, then try to get at least 1000
mg a day of total Omega-3 fatty acids through diet or
supplementation. If dealing with later stages, you may
want to shoot for more than that keeping in mind the
possible bleeding problem from going over 3000 mg
a day of total Omega-3 fatty acids.
We have four different products that we stock which
actually state the amount of DHA they contain. They
can be found by following this link to http://www.msm-
msm.com/store/agora.cgi?keywords=dha
Do you have a supplement tip or natural cure that
works for you and would have wide appeal? Send me
the specifics of what you do and how it works for you,
and if I use it in a future newsletter, I will give you a
$10.00 store credit to use as you wish.

| Lignisul Granular MSM Update |
 |
|
It took most of December, but we finally have our stock
level of Lignisul granular MSM back to normal. We
have been experiencing higher than normal demand
lately for it, so we hope we can keep it in stock. The
manufacturer is working with us to try to meet this
increased demand.

| DMSO Is Closing Out |
 |
|
We just found out that once our supply of DMSO is
gone, we will not be able to obtain any more from our
current supplier. We do not have a replacement
supplier lined up at this time, and so most likely we
will simply have to stop selling DMSO altogether. If you
are a current user of this product, you will want to stock
up now.

2008 Price Outlook |
|
|
|
While I don't claim any fame to predicting the future, I
can say that there is quite a bit of pressure to push
prices up in 2008.
First and foremost is that our US dollar has fallen by
quite a large amount against other foreign currency.
And while most of our stock is made in the US, that
situation has forced the price of oil up which in turn
pushes up all other energy prices. The plastic
containers also are petroleum-based as well as other
raw materials.
We have already been informed that Rich is raising
their lotion prices as of February 1. UPS shipping
prices have also gone up by 5% for
2008, and while no USPS announcement has been
made yet, it's only a matter of time before their next
rate increase as well. Minimum wage law is also
pushing up prices.
We will try to hold pricing
as low as possible. We know that people that need
supplements the most tend to be the people that can
least afford them. But as our costs go up, we will have
to pass those increases along somehow.
In
the
mean time, it may be best to purchase sooner rather
than later and to buy in larger quantities to hedge
against inflation and to take advantage of our lower
pricing for larger amounts as well as free shipping for
US orders of $150.00 or more. Of course this is just a
word to the wise, and you must do what your budget
dictates for you. We will try to keep you informed of any
upcoming price increases.
